Sample Class Schedule

Classes at Glass Mermaid Studio are taught in a relaxing atmosphere, with an emphasis on learning new techniques. We try to have fun, and take into account your priorities. Class numbers are kept low to give you individual attention, and space to learn.

CLASS	DESCRIPTION
Fused Fireweed & Stained Glass	Get a taste of the process of stained and fused glass, while making a beautiful fireweed piece. Includes all materials. 4 weeks. Sign up early!
Beg. Stained Glass	Students will construct a small panel of their choice, and learn cutting and soldering skills in depth. Class will meet 5 weeks. Glass extra. Supply fee $35.00	student example
Valentine Earrings	Learn how to solder fine silver, and make a beautiful pair of hoop earrings, using handmade heart disc beads. A great project for Valentine’s Day or anytime!
Critter Pots	Create a whimsical critter pot, using pinch and slab techniques, and then add glazing. This class is loads of fun, and appropriate for all ages! 2 weeks. Guest Teacher
Beginning Wire Wrapping	Come and learn the basics of wire working and incorporate them into a lovely pair of earrings. You’ll really enjoy this class! Guest Teacher
Beaded Bonsai Tree	Learn to make beautiful beaded bonsai trees from wire and beads. Popular and easy class. Guest Teacher
6 Drawer Pulls	Add some pizzazz to a bureau or kitchen cabinets, while learning about basic fusing techniques.
Baskets!	Students will create a small basket. A beautiful Spring project. Guest Teacher
Funny Faces	VACATION CLASS. Perfect for all ages. Make a funny face pendant out of fused glass, which will be ready to wear for April Fool’s Day.
Beaded Paw Print Keychain	VACATION CLASS. Come all day and lunch & snacks are included! 4 different classes offered. Guest Teacher
Jewelry Surprise	VACATION CLASS. Instructor will pick the project, and students will finish a piece of jewelry. Vacation classes good for all ages.
Jewelry Hanger	VACATION CLASS. Construct a 5” x 5” tile, with lattice work for hanging jewelry. Fused piece will be ready to hang on your wall or window!
Wire Work Necklace	The perfect match to the wire work earring class. Make a lovely necklace and learn how to make spirals and lightning bolts out of wire. Guest Teacher
Cherry Blossom Sprig	Make a cheery Spring accent out of beads and wire. Guest Teacher
Dichro Slide	Using Dichro Slide, paper punches, and glass layering, students will create 2 small fused pins or pendants.
Fused Soap Dish	Make a functional fused fireweed, lupine or forget-me-not soap dish. Great for gift giving.
Chandelier Earrings	Learn how to cascade beads, and make secure eye wraps. Use your creativity and have plenty of fun.
Spiral Wire Bracelet	Using jump rings and silver wire students will make a beautiful bracelet, just in time for Mother’s Day!

Above is the current formal class schedule, but classes can be designed to meet your needs and schedule! Get together 3 or more friends, and we can set up a custom class, which can focus on a your particular interests and/or schedule. Birthday, bridal, school groups,scouts, and work parties are lots of fun. Together we can work with you to develop your project, with costs and time commitment in mind. If you have can't make a scheduled date or it has already gone by, email me your interest and i'll add you to a waiting list for the next class! Private lessons are also available.
